stop lying to yourself

by | Sep 17, 2023 | Goal Setting, Life

Are you telling yourself that you don’t have enough time? Well I call BS on that. I was recently scrolling through a FB group I am in where someone asked others to share how many hours they spent on social media.

The number of hours was STAGGERING! The results were anywhere from 5 hours a week to 31 hours a week!

What?

The average was about 3-5 hours per day. No wonder why people say they have no time. It is literally being sucked dry by your phone!

That’s literally a part time job! Think about all of the things that you are missing out on! I bet the first one is sleep. I know you are scrolling before you fall asleep, or in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep. How about skipping out on doing laundry, washing the dishes, going for a walk or some other type of exercise?

All those times you are posting, saying you can’t get chores done or have time to yourself. And you are complaining about it on social media.

Oh I know we love to commiserate and find others in our shoes. Misery loves company and all that. But honestly, I want you to go look right now and see how many hours you spent on your social apps. See that data for yourself, no guessing or estimating. Get your eyes open to how you manage your time.

Then keep reading. I am going to tell you a few things you can do instead of constantly scrolling.

Ready?

Read a book.

Write out a budget.

Research careers (yes I know it’s online but it is with purpose).

Make your grocery list.

Pay your bills.

Schedule a massage.

Organize a closet.

Journal your frustrations or your dreams.

Use that time to take action towards what you really want.

No time is no longer an excuse.

Even if you cut down 5 hours a week to start, that is enough to make dramatic progress towards your goals.

Stop holding yourself back in the name of busyness.

Let’s get you on the road to the success you keep dreaming about!
